Who’s Working the Night Shift in your Area?

MONDAY, SEP 05, 2022

Who’s on the night shift? A Social Explorer analysis of 2016-20 American Community Survey data finds 6.8 percent of American workers show up for work between 4 p.m. and midnight. Slightly more than one-third of the 1,339 workers in Hudspeth County, Texas – the site of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detention Center – work the night shift.

It's followed by Gibson County, Ind., the home of a Toyota manufacturing plant (21.1 percent); Sargent County, N.D., which hosts a Doosan Bobcat manufacturing plant (20.5 percent); Quay County, N.M. (18 percent); and Brown County, Ill. (17.6 percent).

Use Social Explorer’s intuitive reporting and mapping tools to see who’s working the night shift in your area.
