THURSDAY, DEC 12, 2013

1accccc2a12c816bb066dc2d2c15a453Social Explorer's Andrew Beveridge appeared on WNYC's The Brian Lehrer Show to talk about demographic trends and Bloomberg's legacy.

In the special edition of the show "Three Questions About Bloomberg," Brian Lehrer asks listeners and experts:

1) Did Bloomberg make you healthier?

2) Did Bloomberg leave you behind?

3) Did Bloomberg secure our future?

Beveridge and Mark Winston Griffith of the Brooklyn Movement Center discuss development, neighborhood change, education, wealth, housing, immigration, inequality, and poverty.  They also react to Bloomberg's recent statements about the city's socioeconomic successes in his farewell speech.

The conversation started with data from Social Explorer on a number of socio-economic factors during Bloomberg's term (2000 to 2012).  You can examine and comment on that data here and on the Brian Lehrer Show page.

"The Bloomberg legacy will rise or fall on his development," said Beveridge.
