The Food Access Research Atlas, developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Economic Research Service, provides data on food access indicators at the census tract level across the United States. It identifies areas with limited access to affordable and nutritious food—commonly referred to as "food deserts"—based on income levels, vehicle availability, and distance to the nearest supermarket. The atlas supports research, policy-making, and community planning related to food insecurity and healthy food access.
