Location Affordability Index 5-year Estimates

Description

This group includes the Location Affordability Index (LAI), a HUD/DOT resource that estimates the combined cost of housing and transportation (“H+T”) as a share of household income at the neighborhood scale. LAI models eight representative household profiles—varying by income, size, and commuters—to show how place and travel behavior affect costs, using ACS 5-year data and other inputs.
