Social Isolation Likely to be Felt Most Acutely in New York City

A Seattle-area nursing home was Ground Zero for the coronavirus epidemic, but the responsibility for containing the potential lethal disease with social isolation is likely to be felt most acutely in New York City.

A Social Explorer analysis of Census data found 222 of the 228 U.S. neighborhoods with population densities that top 100,000 people per square mile are located in the nation’s largest metro area. Use Social Explorer to further discover where the biggest payoffs for social isolation might occur among the nation’s Census tracts.
