Crime and Arrest Data Now Available on Social Explorer

TUESDAY, MAR 29, 2016

Explore crime and arrest data on a county level across the US for 2010 and 2012 using Social Explorer's maps and reports.

These selected crime data originate from the Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR), while population estimates data were collected by Census Bureau and processed by Social Explorer. These data include violent crimes, property crimes and arrests.

For example, explore the 2012 murder rate by county in the following map:

And the 2012 motor vehicle theft rate by county in the following map:

Additional crime data from the FBI's UCR on a metropolitan/nonmetropolitan county level is also available. The FBI's UCR provides the volume of violent and property crimes as reported by law enforcement agencies that contributed data. The data shown in this table do not reflect county totals but are the number of offenses reported by the sheriff's office or county police department.

Stay tuned for more new data this spring!
