No, the HPI is not adjusted for inflation. For inflation adjustments, one can use the Consumer Price Index "All Items Less Shelter" series. The Bureau of Labor Statistics'price index series ID# CUUR0000SA0L2, for example, has tracked non-shelter consumer prices since the 1930s.
