- Various counties' and states' Published Totals did not match aggregated table total. Difference between these total did not exceed 1% of published total population.
- Counties include Hartford, CT, Norfolk, VA, Pendleton, VA, Pittsylvania, VA, Preston, VA, Granville, BC, Randolph, NC.
- States include Connecticut, New York, and Virgina; and the United States.
- Universe: "Total Population" calculated by Social Explorer. Universe now reflects aggregated table total.
- Free Colored is the sum of male and female colored population of all age groups.
- Salve population is the sum of slave male and female totals.
