Social Explorer won a Gold Medal in the 2015 Modern Library Awards (MLAs).  The MLAs are a new, unbiased program recognizing the elite products and software that serve the library industry.

We are honored to have received this recognition from the MLAs, a community we have been committed to serving since our founding.

Social Explorer is an online research tool designed to provide quick and easy access to historical census data and demographic information. It creates fast, intuitive, and appealing maps and reports to help users visually analyze and understand demography and social change throughout history. Social Explorer brings together a vast and growing amount of quantitative data within an intuitive visual interface to make demographic research and the study of social statistics accessible and interactive. A comprehensive resource containing the entire U.S. Census history from 1790 to the present, in addition to a wealth of other demographic surveys, Social Explorer replaces printed volumes spanning 22 decades of census data with easy-to-use, interactive online tools and uniformly accessible data. In fact, this growing resource contains more than 40 billion data elements and 220 years of data.

We look forward to continuing to provide our library partners and all our subscribers with easy-to-use, innovative tools and resources.
